Michelle Lobermeier, a May 2019 graduate of St. Norbert College, was recently awarded a Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship scholarship worth $8,500.
Lobermeier, from Park Falls, Wis., was one of 50 selected nationally to receive the award given to Phi Kappa Phi members entering their first year of graduate or professional study. Lobermeier plans to attend Eastern Michigan University to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology in the fall. She graduated
summa cum laude from the Honors Program at St. Norbert College.

Selection for the fellowship award is based on the applicant’s promise of success in graduate or professional study, including academic achievement, service and leadership experience, letters of recommendation, work samples, personal statement and career goals, and acceptance at an approved graduate or professional program.

Lobermeier is the third student from St. Norbert College’s Phi Kappa Phi chapter to receive a fellowship since 2015, when the chapter became eligible to submit candidates.
Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines. Approximately 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni are initiated into the society each year. Its mission is to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others. Benefits of membership in Phi Kappa Phi include academic prestige, the ability to apply for a variety of scholarships and grants, and discounts from the society’s partner companies.
