Crowley Named Interim Associate Academic Dean at St. Norbert College

Karlyn Crowley has been named interim associate academic dean at St. Norbert College. During this one-year assignment, Crowley will oversee six areas within academic affairs in addition to stewarding assessment efforts and collaborating with the office of institutional effectiveness. The areas Crowley will be overseeing are academic service-learning, Cassandra Voss Center, collaborative, Honors Program, library and office of faculty development.
Crowley’s experience includes chairing and serving on numerous academic committees including the academic affairs committee for St. Norbert College’s board of trustees, as well as engagement with national organizations such as the Association of American Colleges & Universities and the National Women’s Studies Association. Crowley earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in English from the University of Virginia and B.A. in English and women’s studies from Earlham College. She joined St. Norbert in 2002 as assistant professor, and she earned promotions to associate professor with tenure in 2006 and full professor in 2014. Most recently, Crowley served as the founding director of the Cassandra Voss Center, establishing a new model for gender and identity studies.
