St. Norbert College Announces 2019 Heritage Week and Homecoming Celebrations

St. Norbert College announces activities for its Heritage Week and Homecoming celebrations, running from Oct. 7 to Oct. 19. Various events, lectures and sports activities will take place throughout October. The month celebrates the history of St. Norbert College and brings together the Norbertines, current students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families.

Specific event details are as follows:

Heritage Week Reception: Monday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. Open to all staff and faculty to celebrate Heritage Week; light refreshments and drinks will be served. The event will take place at the Center for Norbertine Studies located in the Mulva Library.
Founder’s Day Prayer Breakfast & Presentation of The Founder’s Awards: Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 8 a.m. The Founder’s Day Prayer Breakfast recognizes members of the
college community who model values the community upholds, such as communio (community) and radical hospitality. The Founder’s Awards honor the words and actions of several individuals who have demonstrated a deep commitment to the values of the college. The breakfast will be held in the Michels Commons Ballroom on the college’s campus. Reservations are required by Sept. 30. To register, visit https://urlzs.com/RH13v.

“The Lost Women of Prémontré: Finding and Following the Footsteps of Medieval Women” Concert and Lecture: Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. This lecture will explore the social, economic and political contexts of French Premonstratensian sisters throughout the 12th and 16th centuries in light of new archival research, which tells a more complicated story than has long been assumed. The St. Norbert College music department will present a concert featuring sacred music at 6:30 p.m. Both events will
take place at Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St., De Pere. They are free and open to the public.

Women’s Volleyball Versus Grinnell College: Friday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. Cheer on the St. Norbert College women’s volleyball team as it faces off against Grinnell College. The game will take place in the Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center, 601 Third St., De Pere. It is free and open to the public.

Homecoming Football Game: Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. The St. Norbert College Green Knights will play Beloit College at Schneider Stadium, 1600 Lost Dauphin Road, De Pere. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children, senior citizens and non-St. Norbert students. St. Norbert students are admitted to the game for free. Pre-game tailgating will start at 11:30 a.m.

Women’s Volleyball Versus Cornell College: Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. Support the St. Norbert College women’s volleyball team it competes against Cornell College. The game will take place in the Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center, 601 Third St., De Pere. It is free and open to the public.

The only Norbertine college in the world, St. Norbert is a four-year, Catholic liberal arts institution nestled beside the Fox River in De Pere, Wis., neighboring Green Bay.
