St. Norbert College will host its annual Student Leadership Conference on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the F. K. Bemis International Center, 299 Third St., De Pere. The theme of this year’s conference is “Breaking Down Barriers, Building Up Leaders.” The event is open to students from any higher-education institution
in Wisconsin.
The conference is an opportunity for students to network and connect with other student leaders; develop skills necessary for student leadership positions; and participate in sessions that introduce new ideas, challenge ways of thinking and empower students to make a difference. Natalie Gillard, creator of Factuality, a crash course on structural inequality in the United States, will lead the conference’s keynote presentation. Gillard will facilitate a game, much like Monopoly, that
illustrates how individuals with different social identities can be impacted by U.S. social systems.
The conference will feature multiple breakout sessions related to social identity and social systems; other sessions will cover more traditional leadership topics.

To register for the conference, visit www.snc.edu/tickets. Registration before Friday, Jan. 24, is $10 for St. Norbert College students and staff and $35 for non-St. Norbert College students and staff. Registration fees will increase after Jan. 24. The registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 31.
