Jennifer Bonds-Raacke, vice president for academic affairs at St. Norbert College, has been named to the advisory board of the Great Lakes Regional Student Success Conference (GLRSSC).

Bonds-Raacke will serve a two-year term on the board and advise on keynote speakers, assist with the conference theme, identify potential sponsors and attend the conference each year held in February or March. The 2021 conference, which highlighted exemplary strategies and practices that higher education institutions employed during the COVID-19 pandemic, concluded on Feb. 26.

Established in 2013, the Michigan Student Success Conference was created to bring together like-minded educators to address the importance of retention in higher education. The turnout was overwhelmingly positive, leading just three years later to the conference stretching beyond southeast Michigan to the entire Great Lakes region. Now, the Great Lakes Student Success Conference hosts universities throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Ontario and beyond.

Bonds-Raacke came to St. Norbert in 2019 from Fort Hays State University (FHSU), where she served as dean of the graduate school and office of scholarship and sponsored projects. She held the rank of tenured full professor in the department of psychology at FHSU, where she served as chair for seven years before assuming her role as dean.
