On Friday, Sept. 17, the St. Norbert College Campus will celebrate the eighth anniversary of the Cassandra Voss Center (CVC) and Cassandra’s 36th birthday with a concert at 7 p.m. in the Walter Theatre in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts featuring Femmes of Rock.

Led by rock violinist and arranger, Nina DiGregorio, Femmes of Rock has wowed audiences worldwide with their blistering solos and unique arrangements. The only one of its kind; no other string acts operate at this level of production. Be prepared for something that you have not yet seen the likes of. Femmes of Rock have performed with some of the biggest names in the business, including David Foster, Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald and Beyoncé.

For more on the Femmes of Rock, go to https://femmesofrock.com/.

All proceeds from the concert and additional donations will be used to support scholarships and programming efforts of the center.

Tickets can be purchased for the concert by calling the Walter Theatre box office at 403-3950 or online at http://tickets.snc.edu. Ticket prices are $60 for all seats.

The Cassandra Voss Center was built in 2013 to honor the life of Cassandra J. Voss, who died in a car accident in 2007, at the age of 21, during her senior year at St. Norbert College. Voss was on track to be the first St. Norbert student to complete an individualized major in women’s and gender studies.

The center provides a collaborative learning environment for the study of women and gender using an integrated educational approach connecting theory, research, experiential learning and co-curricular development.
