The St. Norbert College campus will be lit up with purple lights throughout the month of October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. There will be purple lights provided by Golden House all around campus near buildings and on lamp posts. In addition, the residential assistants will have purple fairy lights strung outside their doors, the project sign displayed near their rooms and information to provide about how students can seek assistance with domestic violence/dating violence issues.

“For the past two years, both the St. Norbert College campus community and off campus organizations have been collaborating to strategically and collectively break the cycle of abuse and violence through education, as well as evidence-based prevention and intervention efforts sponsored by the Department of Justice, OVW/VAWA grant,” said Chrystal Woller, Director of Health and Wellness. “St. Norbert College’s collective efforts with on and off campus organizations will contribute to the understanding of, and response to, gender-based violence,” added Woller.
“As St. Norbert College continues to enhance our campus opportunities to support survivors of gender-based violence, we are honored to pause throughout the month of October to recognize survivors of domestic violence. Our community bands together in support of those who have experienced domestic abuse,” said Sarah Olejniczak, Title IX and Compliance Coordinator.
