Knight Theatre, St. Norbert College’s student-run theatre group, will present “Carrie the Musical,” by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals Co., Jan. 27-30.

Performances will be held at the Webb Theatre in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus. Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday matinee performances will be at 2 p.m. Masks are required for all indoor events according to our current COVID-19 Guidelines and socially distanced seating is in place for added precaution.

Carrie White, a teenage outcast who longs to fit in, is virtually invisible to everyone around her - except the bullies at her school, of course. At home, she’s dominated by her cruelly controlling, yet sometimes loving mother. What nobody knows is that Carrie has just discovered a special power within herself, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it. Set in the present in the small New England town of Chamberlain, Maine, “Carrie the Musical” features the book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), music by Academy Award-winner Michael Gore (“Fame,” “Terms of Endearment”), lyrics by Academy Award-winner Dean Pitchford (“Fame,” “Footloose”) and based on the novel by Stephen King. Tickets for the event can be purchased at the St. Norbert College box office by calling 920-403-3950 or online at http://www.snc.edu/tickets/. Reserved seats for the public are $15. St. Norbert College Knight Theatre is a student organization dedicated to staging a musical theatre production each year, with a monthlong rehearsal schedule that culminates in several public performances. Every aspect of the show is coordinated and performed by St. Norbert students - from actors and pit musicians to designers, directors and producers. Knight Theatre productions traditionally have played to hundreds of audience members each year.

“Carrie the Musical” is directed by KaCie Ley (Green Bay) and produced by Madelyn Glosny (Suamico, Wis.). Tanner Witthuhn (Seymour, Wis.) provides vocal direction, and Marquise Weatherall (Madison, Wis.) conducts the pit band. The technical director is Jax Mader (Kaukauna, Wis.), and the choreographer is Mallory Fritsch (Green Bay). The stage manager is Abby Charlier (De Pere), and assistant stage manager is Lauren Pamperin (Marion, Wis.).

The design team is made up of Bruce Glassco (Little Chute, Wis.), sound design; Madalynn Kuehl (Ashwaubenon, Wis.) and assistant Eliza Griffey (Mishicot, Wis.), lighting design; Ley and assistants Charlier, Kuehl, Mader and Pamperin, props; Hannah Dornfeld (Pulaski, Wis.), costume, makeup and hair design; and Kuehl, special effects.

The cast includes Gavin Andersson (Green Bay), Elizabeth Brefka (Franklin, Wis.), Taylor Collard (De Pere, Wis.), Natalie Elfner (Homewood, Ill.), Logan Enger (Little Chute, Wis.), Mallory Fritsch (Green Bay), Sarah Gregory (Ashwaubenon, Wis.), Kenzi Gummin (Florence, Wis.), Adriana Hanson (De Pere, Wis.), Marki Hietpas (Little Chute, Wis.), Emma Hutter (Fond du Lac, Wis.), Daphne Johnson (Green Bay), Anton Maslowski (Madison, Wis.), Seth Mayrer (Medford, Wis.) and Daniel Scaife (Madison, Wis.).
