St. Norbert College Announces Public Launch for the "Support What Matters" Campaign

St. Norbert College’s Support What Matters campaign to grow its endowment is off to a strong start. The campaign, which launched publicly on May 19, began with a silent phase starting in June 2016 with the goal to raise $125 million in celebration of the college's 125th birthday in 2023.
The Support What Matters campaign is a multi-year initiative to build on the college’s recent momentum and secure its place among the top echelon of Catholic liberal arts colleges. All gifts made since June 2015 are counted. As of May 19, the college has raised $83.5 million.

“St. Norbert is a strong institution, and it is getting stronger - precisely because of the generosity of those who support our mission,” said St. Norbert College President Brian Bruess. “We are grateful for the opportunities they give us to make a real difference in the lives of our students and in our community,” added Bruess.

The campaign features four priorities: scholarships and financial aid, strategic innovation, mission (Catholic, liberal arts, Norbertine) and contemporary student experiences.

“The College’s success and vision is getting significant attention and support from our alumni and donors,” said Ed Thompson, a trustee of the college who, along with Paul Gehl, is serving as a campaign co-chair. “The philanthropy this campaign inspires will set the stage for an even greater St. Norbert College student experience, and will help attract and retain high-quality faculty,” Thompson added.

Bruess added: “This campaign helps ensure St. Norbert College remains distinctive and relevant in the world of Catholic higher education, and helps the college continue graduating students who are distinguished, impactful, ethical leaders who pursue the common good. Through the campaign, our supporters can affirm that they value the experience we deliver to our students and, in turn, what our students deliver to the world.”
