The St. Norbert College Center for Exceptional Leadership (CEL) in partnership with the Dickinson County Area Economic Development Alliance is offering its Foundational Leadership program on the campus of Bay College in Iron Mountain.

“Our intent is to help support the continued development of leaders in the organizations that call Dickinson County home,” said Dean Stewart, executive director of the Center for Exceptional Leadership at St. Norbert College. “There is already a great program run through Bay College called “Leadership Academy.” Our desire in bringing our programs to the region is to offer additional options for lifelong learning. It answers the question of “what’s next?” for those individuals who are looking for more,” said Stewart.

The St. Norbert College Center for Exceptional Leadership offers leadership development programs for professionals at all levels of an organization. Through experiential learning built around real-world challenges, the CEL empowers leaders to create new levels of meaningful impact in their organizations, families and communities.

The Foundational Leadership program equips team members who are new to leadership or have been identified as high performers, with the qualities, core behaviors and skills they need to become more contemplative, forward-looking drivers of an organization’s success.

Over the course of eight sessions, program participants will build:

● Greater self-awareness of core strengths and areas for growth

● Better understanding of what is required to move from a strong individual contributor to a leader of people and team success.

● Critical thinking, problem-solving and empathetic listening skills.

The program leader is Jon Harry a longtime area executive with Systems Control. He’ll be supported by other CEL faculty and executive coaches. The local program was created to support the growth and development of leaders from organizations across the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin.

The cost is $4,750 per participant and includes books, materials, meals, assessment, an executive coaching session and facilitation.

The enrollment deadline is Friday, Feb. 3, with the assessment launch on Monday, Feb. 13. Immersion into the program will take place on Tuesday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon on May 10, June 7, July 12, Aug. 9, Sept. 6, Oct. 11 and Nov. 8.
