St. Norbert College Knight Theatre to Present "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"

Knight Theatre, St. Norbert College’s student-run theatre group will present “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” Jan. 26 through Jan. 29. Performances will be held at the Webb Theatre in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus. Shows will be held at 7:30 p.m.; matinee performances will be held Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny and touching book by Rachel Sheinkin and a truly fresh and vibrant score by William Finn, this bee is one unforgettable experience.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the St. Norbert College Box Office by calling 920-403-3950 or online at https://www.snc.edu/tickets/. All reserved seats are $20 for adults and $11 for St. Norbert students.

St. Norbert College Knight Theatre is an organization that puts on a professional musical within a month. It is a completely student-run organization, with students comprising the crew and pit orchestra, as well as serving as designers, directors and producers.

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is directed by Sarah Swan (Ashwaubenon, WI) and produced by Madisyn Brisbane (Green Bay, WI). Tom (Dong Hyeon) Lee (Seoul, South Korea) serves as pit director and first piano; while Bruce Glassco (Little Chute, Wis.) serves as vocal director and pit conductor. Logan Enger (Little Chute, WI) is the assistant vocal director.

Bruce Glassco (Little Chute, Wis.) provides vocal direction, and Tom (Dong Hyeon) Lee (Seoul, South Korea) directs the pit band while Glasso conducts. The technical director is Jacinta Maslanka (Crestwood, Ill.) and the choreographer is Miranda Lobermeier (Park Falls, Wis.). The stage manager is Daphne Johnson (Green Bay).

The design team is made up of Austin Kobylarczyk (Pulaski, Wis.) as sound designer; Edgar Berumen (Guadalajara, Mexico) as lighting designer; Samantha Czekala (Manitowoc, Wis.) and Abigail Barnett (Manitowoc, Wis.) as prop designers; and Mallory Fritsch (Green Bay) as costume, hair and makeup designer.

The cast includes Emma Hutter (Fond du Lac, Wis.), Gavin Andersson (Green Bay), Seth Mayrer (Medford, Wis.), Anton Maslowski (Madison, Wis.), Fiona Laffey (Chicago, Ill.), Elizabeth Brefka (Franklin, Wis.), Marki Hietpas (Little Chute, Wis.), Natalie Elfner (Homewood, Ill.), and Emma Peterson (Janesville, Wis.).
