St. Norbert College Announces Composition Competition

St. Nobert College will present its annual Fresh Ink Concert, showcasing original works composed by high school and St. Norbert College students on Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. and performed by St. Norbert Colleges ensembles and faculty performers. This event is free and open to the public.

The application to enter the competition is free, and the winner will receive a monetary award of $300. Selected composers will be awarded fellowships and invited to SNC Composition Day, which will include educational sessions, lunch and the Fresh Ink Concert. Selected composers are required to attend for music to be performed.

Students may submit an application for works in the following categories: wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, chamber music and composer-performer. The recommended length of pieces submitted is a maximum of ten minutes and composers can submit up to two pieces. The deadline for the application is Feb. 24.
