St. Norbert College senior Anika Mazier of Appleton, Wis. received the Dr. Santiago Vilas Phi Sigma Iota (PSI) Scholarship in the amount of $3,000.

Bradford Ellis, faculty advisor of SNC’s Phi Sigma Iota (PSI) chapter and associate professor, said, “This is the highest amount given for the PSI collegiate scholarship and will help Anika pursue a master’s degree at the ESIC Business and Marketing School in Madrid this fall. While we have had several outstanding students receive the PSI scholarship over the last several years, this is the highest amount ever given.”

Phi Sigma Iota recognizes outstanding accomplishment in the study or teaching of any of the academic fields related to foreign language, literature or culture. Phi Sigma Iota is the highest academic honor in the field of foreign languages. There are approximately 180 chapters of Phi Sigma Iota at institutions of higher learning in the U.S. and at American University in Paris.
