St. Norbert College junior Kylie Kapelke of Sparta, Wis., and senior Amelia Wilcox of Kentwood, Mich., were recently awarded study abroad grants from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Kapelke is majoring in political science with minors in philosophy and peace & justice. She will study abroad in Serbia, Austria and Hungary this fall.

Wilcox graduated in May. She majored in psychology and business administration and participated in the summer global seminar: History, Culture & Communio in Spain.

A total of 125 $1,000 grants were awarded this year. Applicants did not have to be society members but must attend an institution with an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter. Applicants also must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The nation’s oldest and most selective multidisciplinary collegiate honor society initiates approximately 25,000 members a year on more than 325 campuses in the United States, its territories and the Philippines. More than 1.5 million members have joined its ranks since Phi Kappa Phi’s founding in 1897 at the University of Maine.
