St. Norbert College Honors Associate Director of Dining Services

The St. Norbert College community honored Melissa DaPra, associate director of dining services, with the 2023 Exceptional Service Award on Thursday, Aug. 17. DaPra has served the college in dining services for more than 15 years.

As the college’s dietitian, DaPra meets regularly with students who are navigating specific dietary needs, then works with the college’s chefs to ensure those students’ needs are properly addressed. DaPra also was a driving force behind St. Norbert College’s award-winning allergen station, helping to secure the initial funding to make the station possible.

DaPra’s coworkers identified her as a prime example of servant leadership and say she is respected for the ways she promotes the development of each member of her team, helping them to align their sense of purpose with the mission of the college.

The Exceptional Service Award is given annually to a staff employee (hourly or salaried) for service above and beyond normal work expectations. Nominations are submitted by St. Norbert College faculty and staff.
