St. Norbert College is opening its doors to the community on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the college’s 14th annual SNC Day, which offers a variety of activities including an Abbot Pennings High School open house and a presentation by “Jeopardy!” winner Ben Chan. Admission is free.

SNC Day provides an opportunity for area residents to visit campus and learn more about what the college has to offer. The event will feature musical entertainment, Segway tours, tours of St. Norbert Abbey and the National Shrine of St. Joseph, children’s activities, an SNC Day mile run, and many different food options, including several local food truck favorites. On Saturday evening, the SNC music department will host its fall music concert.

Local nonprofit Urban Cultural Arts will provide SNC-inspired pre-sketch painting canvases and paint supplies; an art market will feature the works of local and regional artists; West De Pere High School bands will play on campus throughout the day; and the college’s F. K. Bemis International Center will host global-themed activities.

The Pennings Activity Center, formerly Nicolet High School and Abbot Pennings High School, will host an Abbot Pennings High School open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the building is slated to be razed beginning this winter to make way for a new home for the college’s business school.

St. Norbert College faculty will offer a variety of presentations, including “Lessons from Jeopardy!” by philosophy professor Chan, who won nine games on the trivia show last spring. Other presentations focus on the economics of climate change, the Bible and music, principle-centered leadership, the history and future of human rights, and more.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to participate in other educational activities or carnival games, view gallery exhibitions, and experience a Knights on Broadway performance. There will be plenty of things for the kids, including inflatables, face-painting, and balloon and caricature artists. Information about St. Norbert’s undergraduate and graduate programs and campus tours will be available for those who are interested, as well as an info session on preparing for college.

More information on SNC Day activities will be available at https://www.snc.edu/sncday.
