The Mulva Library at St. Norbert College will host “The Transperience” art installation Oct.12-18 in partnership with the Bay Area Council on Gender Diversity and the Trans Artist Collaborative (TAC). The installation includes various transfeminine works of art, multimedia images, soft sculptures, apparel, voices and interactive opportunities in the form of an immersive sensory art experience.

“The Transperience” -- created by TAC, a collaboration by five artists and creatives -- was first presented as part of “Unhinged,” an innovative multi-disciplinary celebration of various art forms that was presented at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Weidner Center in October 2022. This year’s installation at the Mulva Library builds on the original, but expands the artistic expression and explores additional dimensions of the feminine transgender experience. All who enter will experience and gain new insights into the transgender feminine experience: its joys and challenges.

“The Mulva Library is excited to host an extended version of ‘Transperience’ in our space,” said Jasmine Gordon, community engagement coordinator for the Mulva Library. “This installation will not only highlight transgender feminine experiences, it will also showcase talented artists in our community.”

The installation will provide visitors with an opportunity to gain new insights and a greater understanding of the transfeminine reality in an effort to build a creative, diverse, inclusive and innovative society, said Martha Marvel, TAC facilitator.
