St. Norbert College Music Department Announces Fall Music Events

The St. Norbert College music department will present a variety of concerts this fall. Specific event details are as follows:

Autumn Choral Concert: Friday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Walter Theatre at the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere, and via livestream. The concert, directed by Sarah Parks, features St. Norbert College’s talented mixed-voice ensembles, including Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at https://www.snc.edu/tickets.

Autumn Band Concert: Friday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m., in the Walter Theatre at the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere, and via livestream. Directed by Philip Klickman, the concert features the St. Norbert College Concert Band, composed of both music and non-music students, and the St. Norbert College Wind Ensemble, which includes the college’s top wind and percussion musicians. Autumn Chamber Music Concert: Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St., De Pere. Directed by Sarah Parks, an elite mixed-voice ensemble will perform an eclectic repertoire of traditional, contemporary and sacred choral literature. Autumn Instrumental Jazz Concert: Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. in Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere, and via livestream. The St. Norbert College Jazz Ensemble, composed of advanced musicians and directed by Eric High, will perform a variety of musical styles as well as those that feature improvisational techniques. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at https://www.snc.edu/tickets.

Autumn Honors Band Concert: Saturday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere. The free concert will also be livestreamed at https://www.snc.edu/academics/visual-performing-arts/music/livestreams.html.

November New Music Concert: Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St., De Pere. The free concert features compositions by St. Norbert College student composers. It will also be livestreamed at https://www.snc.edu/academics/visual-performing-arts/music/livestreams.html.

Autumn Community Band Concert: Monday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere and via livestream. The St. Norbert Community Band, directed by Philip Klickman, features many SNC alumni as well as other talented community members who perform traditional and contemporary music for winds and percussion. Autumn String Orchestra Concert: Friday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere. The String Ensemble is made up of St. Norbert College students, faculty and local community members. It performs traditional orchestral repertoire as well as newer works of music. SNC Opera: Saturday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St., De Pere. St. Norbert College students perform significant operatic works after conducting a semester-long study of various genres of musical drama and vocal-performance styles. The free performance will also be livestreamed at https://www.snc.edu/academics/visual-performing-arts/music/livestreams.html.
