The Medical College of Wisconsin-Green Bay (MCW) and St. Norbert College are partnering to offer high school students two Summer Academy of Medicine experiences on June 11-14 and June 18-21. During each three-and-a-half-day program, students will explore careers in medicine and the biomedical sciences; engage in hands-on active learning in classrooms and laboratories; and gain insights into the skills, educational paths and personal qualities required for a career as a physician, researcher or scientist.

The programs will take place in St. Norbert College’s state-of-the-art Gehl-Mulva Science Center, home of MCW’s Green Bay campus. Classes will be taught by MCW-Green Bay and St. Norbert College faculty, with a strong emphasis on ethics, collaborative work and leadership.

The programs are open to students entering their junior or senior year of high school; a limited number of scholarships are available. Participants will be housed in Gries Hall on the St. Norbert campus. The cost is $800 per participant and includes meals, snacks, housing and evening activities. Parents will be invited to join their student for the closing ceremony and lunch, as well as tours of campus and sessions on college admission and financial aid. The Summer Academy of Medicine is a unique opportunity for students to explore medicine as an academic field, a career path and a vocation, all while they enjoy a taste of life on a quintessential college campus.
