St. Norbert College Announces February and March Music and Art Events

The St. Norbert College box office has announced the lineup for February and March music and art events. Tickets can be purchased at http://snc.edu/tickets.

The lineup is as follows:

Imagining Human Rights: Imagining Human Rights is a collaborative print portfolio celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The exhibit will be in the Godschalx Gallery in the Bush Art Center, 403 Third St., open through Friday, March 22. There is no need to register for this event.

Faculty Recital Featuring João Paulo Casarotti: St. Norbert College assistant professor of piano, João Paulo Casarotti is a Brazilian pianist and pedagogue. This event, free and open to the public, is on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St. Registration is not required.

Winter Bandfest Concert 2024: The concert features high school students from around the state who participated in a clinic at St. Norbert College. SNC faculty and guest artists will perform with the students as they showcase what they learned. Open to the public, the event takes place Saturday, Feb. 10, at 5 p.m. in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and tickets are $10 per person.

Ger Xiong: The Stories We Carry: The exhibit will be in the Baer Gallery in the Bush Art Center, 403 Third St., from Monday, Feb. 26, through Thursday, March 28. The exhibit will feature designs by Ger Xiong, depicting her American Hmong experience; the navigation and negotiation of cultural identity within dominant spaces from histories of colonization, displacement and assimilation; and how she can reclaim her Hmong identity. There will be an artist’s talk and reception on March 28 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Bush Art Center. Registration is not required.

SNC Concert Choir: Sacred Music Across the Centuries: The St. Norbert concert choir will perform at the St. Norbert Abbey, 1016 N. Broadway, De Pere, on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the St. Norbert College music program. Registration is not required.

Big Band Snowball Concert & Dance 2024: The St. Norbert College music department’s annual Big Band Snowball Dance features live music provided by the St. Norbert College Jazz Ensemble, directed by SNC professor Eric High. There will be a cash bar and gourmet desserts. The event is on Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in Michels Commons Ballroom, 409 Third St., De Pere. Tickets are $25.
