DE PERE, Wis. Jan. 27, 2025: St. Norbert College has been recognized nationally as one of the best colleges for international students. Colleges of Distinction, a trusted resource
for students, parents, and guidance counselors across the country, recently released its list of Best Colleges for International Students 2024. St. Norbert is one of only five
institutions in Wisconsin to be recognized with the honor and the only to be named in Northeast Wisconsin.
Institutions were evaluated based on five comprehensive criteria: recruitment and retention, guidance on living and studying in the U.S., academic acclimation and support,
fostering a sense of belonging on campus, and career development and immigration support. The University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Carroll
University, and Wisconsin Lutheran College also received the award.
"This honor reflects our unwavering commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our international students," said Andelys Bolaños, Interim Director of
Global Engagement. "We provide international student scholarships, financial aid, internships and ample on-campus
employment opportunities, ensuring their success as lifelong learners. Our diverse international student population enables faculty and staff to build meaningful connections and
offer personalized support tailored to each student’s academic journey and personal growth."
The International Student and Scholar Services Office at St. Norbert College serves as a comprehensive resource for international students, offering assistance throughout the
F1/J-1 visa application process. The office provides personalized guidance on maintaining lawful immigration status, navigating U.S. employment opportunities, and participating
in orientation sessions. By simplifying the often complex visa and immigration processes, St. Norbert enables international students to focus on their academic and personal
success while studying in the U.S.
Colleges of Distinction helps students and their parents navigate the process of selecting the right college after high school. Since 2000, Colleges of Distinction has been the
