DE PERE: In an effort to promote healthy living and quality family time, a group of students at St. Norbert College are planning a week of activities to encourage local grade school students to Turn Off the TV during the National Turnoff the TV week, April 24-30. Students will be challenged to take the TV Turn off pledge and those who turn off the TV for the entire week will be eligible to win prizes. The week will start on Sunday, April 24 with a kick off ceremony at the St. Norbert College Ray Van Den Heuvel Family Campus Center followed by sports, arts, and other creative and energetic activities. Information booths about area services aimed at families will also be available. For the rest of the week, community businesses will sponsor and/host events during the evening hours to help promote healthy living for the whole family. This is the first year this campaign will be held in the area. The students involved are taking the Leadership Studies Capstone class at St. Norbert College and their aim is to promote healthy living for the whole family.
