St. Norbert College has announced that Wolfgang Grassl, assistant professor of Business Administration, will be the Dale and Ruth Michels Endowed Chair in Business for three years starting in September 2007. Paul Bursik, associate professor of Business Administration, currently holds the position. The Michels Endowed Chair is awarded to a St. Norbert College faculty member who is "experienced and demonstrates an exceptional ability in teaching and/or research" said Michael T. Marsden, dean of St. Norbert College and academic vice president. Since coming to the college in fall of 2004, Grassl has become a highly respected faculty member and has engaged in a series of research projects. His latest book "A Theory of Cultural Dynamics" is well underway, and he has also begun working on "Principles of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition." He is also gathering materials for an investigation of the philosophical and psychological foundations of marketing.
