St. Norbert College to celebrate Black History Month

St. Norbert College will celebrate Black History Month with a Jazz Poetry Jam on Feb. 1, a film presentation and panel discussion of "Crash" on Feb. 8 and a Soul Food Dinner featuring keynote speaker Kevin Powell and the "Keeping It Real" step team from Green Bay on Feb. 24. The Jazz Poetry Jam will be held at noon on Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Ray Van Den Heuvel Campus Center, and feature "Notes at Noon" by Galen Razzaq. Razzaq is a renowned jazz flutist and poet with a master's degree from Rutgers University. St. Norbert College students, faculty and staff will also perform poetry. The event is free and open to the public. On Thursday, Feb. 8 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., St. Norbert College professors Cheryl Carpenter (Sociology) and Karlyn Crowley (English) will be joined by Erik Howard (Multicultural Adviser) and Ron Morris (Multicultural Admission Representative) from the University of Wisconsin
