Welcome to St. Norbert College
On behalf of everyone at St. Norbert College, I want to welcome you to our beautiful campus on the banks of the Fox River. It truly is a special place.
For more than a century St. Norbert has been providing one of the best liberal arts educations in the Midwest, and increasingly the rest of the world has been taking note of that excellence.
Mission Driven
The St. Norbert experience encompasses the entire person—mind, body and spirit. St. Norbert was founded in 1898 by the
Norbertine order of Catholic priests, and their values—dedication to community, service to others and personal reflection—remain at the heart of
our mission today. We are committed to educating students in the context of personal and social responsibility.
Nationally Ranked Liberal Arts College
Onto that moral foundation we overlay an outstanding classroom experience. For two decades St. Norbert has been ranked among the top Midwest colleges. Recently the Carnegie Commission elevated the college to national liberal arts standing, which resulted in our national ranking by U.S. News & World Report. St. Norbert is also recognized by the Princeton Review as a “Best College” and the by Templeton Foundation’s Honor Roll for Character Building Colleges.
Personal Academic Exploration
Working with our superb faculty, undergraduate students get the kind of hands-on research experience more typically reserved for graduate students at leading research institutions. Indeed, you will find ample resources here to advance your studies: National conferences.
Fellowships. An
honors program. Personally designed majors. The new, state-of-the-art, $20 million
Mulva Library. The academic experience for a St. Norbert College student is stellar. More importantly, it’s personal.
Global Perspective
At a time when everyone talks about the importance of a global perspective, St. Norbert lives it. At any given time St. Norbert has students from more than 30 countries on campus. We offer
language studies,
international business, cultural explorations and international service trips. St. Norbert is the first college in the nation to meet study abroad best practices developed by the Forum on Education and one of the first to receive the NAFSA Senator Paul Simon Award for Internationalized Campuses.
Active Leaders
We also encourage an active life beyond the classroom. A large percentage of our students engage in Division III
intercollegiate sports, and many others enjoy
intramurals. We are especially proud that our stellar
Green Knights hockey team just won the national championship! In addition, we have countless opportunities for
leadership, service, and student development through our
student government,
newspaper,
residence hall association,
campus ministry,
music and
theatre groups and
social organizations. What St. Norbert students go on to do as graduates—see for yourself at
Career Services.
And it all takes place on a beautiful, tree-lined campus along the Fox River, just minutes from downtown Green Bay—recently identified as one of the top 100 cities for young people by America’s Promise/The Alliance for Youth. After your
virtual tour of the college campus, I invite you to follow up with a personal visit. You may
schedule it online, call the
Office of Admission at (800) 236-4878 or e-mail us at
visitsnc@snc.edu.
While here, ask about our four-year graduation guarantee and our policy of assigning academic advisors for every student. Ask about our student retention rate—one of the best in Wisconsin. Ask about the new residence hall we are building and our plans for a
new athletic stadium and renovated science building. And please ask where my office is located. I’d love to say hello and tell you more about a college that is on the move.
Discover for yourself what so many others have discovered before you—there is no place like St. Norbert College.
