Dr. Hyang-Sook Kim is an Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Studies. She joined the St. Norbert College in 2012. Dr. Kim earned her Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in 2012 after earning her second master’s degree in mass communications from Kansas State University in 2007.

She also earned her bachelor’s degree and another master’s degree at Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea, in 2000 and 2002 with an emphasis in film and drama studies.

Her research background is in advertising, media effects, and health communication with her current work focusing on the effects of new media technology on online users’ perceptions, particularly as they inform individuals’ tendency to share information online. Her experiences with marketing in diverse industry areas, such as film production, marketing research services, and online education, have been great resources for her teaching.
