Employment: Employment Eligibility

Policy

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires all employees to provide identification and proof of their authorization to work in the United States via Form I-9. St. Norbert’s responsibility is to review this information to ensure everyone it employs is legally eligible for employment.

Procedure

All new employees must complete Section 1 of the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (USCIS Form I-9) on or before their first day of employment. You must also present original documentation to Human Resources that establishes your true identity and eligibility to be employed in the United States within three business days of your first day of work. If your employment will last fewer than three days, you must provide the documentation on your first day of employment.
