Purpose: To support the Norbertine tradition that calls us to respond to the needs of our global and local communities, and the Norbertine value of stabilitas loci, a deep commitment to the local community. St. Norbert College encourages employees to become involved in their communities, lending their voluntary support to programs that positively impact the quality of life within these communities.

Policy

All benefit eligible staff of St. Norbert College are eligible to participate in this program.  Employees are encouraged to volunteer with fellow SNC colleagues and do not need to be from the same department. The employee must be in good standing and must provide reasonable notice to their supervisor for approval

Procedure

Employees must enter absence/time off the same as Vacation/PTO in Workday and have supervisor approval at least two weeks in advance.

Benefit eligible employees can volunteer up to 8 hours per calendar year with a 501(c)(3) non profit or equivalent.  Time must be taken in a minimum of a two-hour block.  The hours of volunteer time will not be eligible to be paid at any overtime rate and also will not count toward a weekly determination of whether other hours are to be paid at overtime.
