Policy

Regular full-time staff are provided six days of personal paid time off (PTO) annually. Your PTO begins at the start of the pay period in which Aug. 16 falls into, and is available to use through the end of the pay period prior to the pay period in which Aug. 16 of the following year falls into. PTO is pro-rated for new employees.

The college provides PTO to assist you if you need to unexpectedly take time off due to illness or injury, or to care for a family member. However, you also may use your PTO for nonemergency time off, with supervisor approval. If you need time off and your PTO has been exhausted, your supervisor may allow you to use vacation time.

You may only use your yearly PTO during the plan year; you can’t carry over any days into the following year. If you miss work, the college may elect to assign PTO to that time, at its discretion. St. Norbert doesn’t pay out any remaining PTO at the end of employment.
