Commencement Address Stands as Farewell to the Seventh President of St. Norbert College

At the final Commencement of his storied nine-year tenure, President Tom Kunkel left the Class of 2017 with a message of gratitude and an 11-word, time-tested rule of life. Our video picks up the proceedings as the program moves to a video tribute to Kunkel’s remarkable career at St. Norbert. He begins his address at the 8:30 minute mark.

Kunkel, one of four recipients of an honorary juris doctor degree at the ceremony, accepted the invitation to give the Commencement address to this last class to graduate under his leadership. The occasion also included addresses by graduating senior Kathryn Sauter ’17 and, representing those graduating from the college’s master’s programs, Emily Schutte ’17 (MBA). (This was the first time in college history that a graduate student was invited to give a Commencement address.)
