The Norman Miller Center for Peace, Justice & Public Understanding at St. Norbert College will present the 2019 Ambassador of Peace Award to Robyn Davis, president and CEO of Brown County United Way. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Hendrickson Dining Room of the F. K. Bemis International Center, 299 Third St., De Pere. Davis will present the lecture “An Instrument of Peace” at 7 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theatre of the F. K Bemis International Center following the reception. Both events are free and open to the public.

Davis is the president and CEO of Brown County United Way, a community- impact organization that unites people, ideas and resources to create solutions
that strengthen every person and community in Brown County. She has served as CEO since May 2017. Prior to joining Brown County United Way, she was president of Freedom House Ministries Inc. in Green Bay for eight years. Davis is currently a member of the Green Bay Packers Board of Directors; the Donald J. Schneider School of Business & Economics Board of Advisors; the Weidner Center Presents Board of Directors; and the Northeast Wisconsin Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a public-service sorority. In 2018, she was named one of Wisconsin’s 42 most influential African-Americans by Madison 365.
Davis also serves as a facilitator with St. Norbert College’s Center for Exceptional Leadership and often speaks throughout the community on the subject of leadership.
The St. Norbert Ambassador of Peace demonstrates the qualities of a peacemaker in a consistent and outstanding manner: respect for persons, promotion of dialogue, nonviolent conflict resolution, reconciliation and forgiveness. The award honors Norbert of Xanten's legacy of reconciliation by recognizing an individual who has been an influential advocate for sustainable peace in the world.
