St. Norbert College to Offer Community-Engagement Classes in February

St. Norbert College announces its community-outreach offerings for February. The workshops and classes will take place at varying times with differing registration fees, noted below. Registration for all offerings is available at www.snc.edu/outreach/cultureworkshops.
Nonprofit Knowledge & Nibbles: Engaging Diverse Communities
Thursday, Feb. 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the St. Norbert College campus. In this workshop, Margaret Franchino, Brown County Community Gardens coordinator, will discuss reaching diverse audiences, focusing on how the Community Gardens program has intentionally engaged a large minority and immigrant population.

The Reality of VR
Thursday, Feb. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the St. Norbert College campus. In this workshop, Susan Ashley, an instructional designer at St. Norbert College, will discuss virtual reality (VR) using various technology tools, such as HTC, VIVE and Oculus Quest. If you have a smartphone, bring it fully charged. If not, one will be provided.

Beyond the Great Wall: Celebrating Chinese Culture
Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the St. Norbert campus. In this workshop, Jieru Chen will lead a discussion on traditions and cultures of the Chinese New Year, this year on Jan. 25, and other major Chinese holidays.
