Courses Tutored

Designated Courses:

We have found many benefits of group tutoring. Students can ask questions, discuss and share ideas with 2-6 students in a similar situation. Sessions are designed to encourage thinking and peer-to-peer interactions. They get to build on what they know, practice, and problem solve with the help of multiple, diverse perspectives. Students learn how to learn through engaging activities and skill development. They also get to listen and learn in a comfortable environment where they form relationships with other tutees and their tutor while increasing their sense of belonging. Use TracCloud to schedule a session for your course.

Math Tutoring:

If you are struggling in your Math courses, please reach out to your faculty member and utilize the TAs for your course. If you are in need of tutoring for MATH 131 or MATH 132, please fill out the request form. We utilize a retired faculty member who specializes in the calculus sequence to assist students virtually who are struggling in that area.

Waitlist Form:

If the group times do not fit your schedule, you can place yourself on our waitlist. We ask that students list all availability they have when joining the waitlist. This allows us more flexibility to create groups based on the students' and tutors' schedules. Filling out this form does not guarantee tutoring. Waitlist depends on qualified tutor/s current schedule and number of students interested in the alternative time slot.

Interest Form

If you do not see your class being tutored or within Academic Peer Mentoring, please fill out the interest form for consideration. Filling out this form does not guarantee tutoring. Placement depends on recruitment of qualified tutor/s and number of students inquiring about the class. In the meantime please utilize: TA hours (if applicable), professors office hours, YouTube, Khan Academy, create a learning community with classmates, or any other educational service open to you.

300 & 400 Level Courses:

Although we strive to fulfill students' requests, we cannot guarantee all students will be placed in a tutoring group. Please keep in mind, recruiting qualified tutors for 300 level courses is challenging, and is looked at on a case by case basis. 400 level courses will not be tutored, please reach out to your faculty member for support.

Individual Tutoring

Individual tutoring is looked at on a case by case basis. A student would need to set up an appointment to discuss the overall need with the Tutor Coordinator (learning@snc.edu). A student can still experience individualized attention in the small group setting. Tutors are trained to meet student's needs and provide a meaningful experience.
