Faculty are encouraged to consider the following financial resources to support academic service-learning. Financial Resources Available through the Center for Community Service and Learning Academic Service Learning/Community Based Research Mini Grant Fund: Awards from the Academic Service-Learning/Community Based Research (ASL/CBR) mini-grant fund are designed to help faculty defray the direct costs of incorporating academic service-learning or community based research into their classes. Faculty may request up to $300 per project by completing an application. Fund for Academic Service-Learning Course Development Grants: Awards from the Fund for Academic Service-Learning Course Development Grants offer faculty the opportunity to obtain financial support for creating a new course, or revising an existing course, to add a substantial academic service-learning component. Financial Resources Available through Faculty Development Fund for Pedagogical Development Awards from the Fund for Pedagogical Development are granted to faculty who wish to attend (rather than present at) pedagogical conferences. Two $600 awards are available for the 2010-11 academic year. Summer Grants: The Summer Grants Program offers faculty the opportunity to obtain financial support for curricular and instructional projects undertaken during the summer months, including service-learning. |
