Spring 2020 Advisement, Course Registration and Course Withdrawal

Below is important information for you to know as you plan for academic advisement and course registration.

Academic Advisement

Academic advisement will proceed as planned April 1 and 7, 2020. Your assigned advisor will be in contact with you prior to the advisement days to schedule your virtual advisement appointment.

Suggested meeting types include Google Hangouts, Google Chat, Google Calling (video or voice), Zoom, telephone or email. If you will have limited access to technology or have specific access concerns while you are away from campus, please share this information with your advisor as you are scheduling your appointment. 

You will need to prepare for your appointment the same way you would if you were meeting in person. Here are some things you can prepare and send to your advisor 24 hours in advance of your appointment: 

It is still expected that your primary academic advisor will release your advising registration hold. 

During your academic advisement appointment you will cover the same information you would as an in person:  

  • Review of current course progress and any course withdrawals you are considering. The withdrawal deadline is April 9, 2020 at 4 p.m. All emails must be received by this time. 
  • Review of academic plan for the upcoming year and for graduation
  • Discussion of summer plans (internships, jobs, other experiences). You will be registering for summer when you register for fall.
  • Review of upcoming course selection
  • Discussion of long-term goals and aspirations
  • Other related experiences you are considering exploring such as study abroad, internships, student leadership through clubs or organizations

Course Registration

Course registration will remain as planned April 2-9, 2020. 

  • Check your registration status via KnightLine or by reviewing the timeticket guide. 
  • Ensure all holds are resolved prior to registration. Contact the appropriate offices to resolve holds that will impact your status.
  • Register yourself via KnightLine during your assigned time. 
  • Work with faculty prior to your registration time if you need course overrides. This ensures you are able to register without issues. 
  • Check your hold status after your advising appointment to ensure your advising hold was properly removed. 
  • Call the registrar’s office promptly at 920-403-3949, if you experience issues. We are ready to provide assistance, answer questions and resolve issues prior to your registration time.  
  • If you call the registrar's office and receive our voicemail, we are on the phone with another student. Leave a detailed message so we can promptly return your call to resolve your issue.
  • Be patient on your registration day. Each SNC student will receive personalized assistance.

Withdrawal Deadline

The last day to withdraw from a course remains April 9, 2020 at 4 p.m. To withdraw from a course, you will need to email the Registrar’s Office at registrar@snc.edu, and copy your advisor and instructor for approval. Your advisor and instructor must both reply back, and have been instructed to do so if you request a withdrawal.
