Vegetarian Entrees

The cafeteria will now be offering Vegetarian entree-style offerings at both lunch and dinner at the Make it Your Way Station. This is in response to Dining Website feedback and student input form our Open Forum session.  Look for casseroles, baked dishes and "veggie meat" options on days that correspond with their respective "sandwich bars" (note: veggie burgers and hot dogs will be available at the Make it your Station to prevent cross-contamination with their meat versions).  The deli features a "eggless tofu salad" for our vegan customers in addition to the daily variety of hummus. The Chef's Action Station will have many vegetarian versions of the daily entree--just ask the chef for availability.  Look for cold vegan proteins at the Salad Bar each meal. If you don't see what you're looking for, please look to our staff for assistance. With your continued involvement and input, we can continue to keep our offerings moving forward.

Changes to the Cafeteria

In response to customer input, Dining Services has retooled its offerings on the Make it Your Way Station. This will continue to be your resource for lean proteins, Vegetarian entrees and nutrient-dense options. Lunch and Dinner will continue to have 2 pastas and 2 pasta sauces as well as a Vegetarian entree. Lunch will continue to have a grain, lean meat protein, sauteed vegetables and 4 additional sauces. Dinner will feature former Healthy Bar items like fish or lean meat and potato or grain.

Reusable to Go Containers

Reusable To Go Containers are still available for a $5.00 purchase at any point throughout the semester. You may use Meal Dollars, Custom Cash, or cash to purchase the container. The new green containers are much larger and comparable in size to the disposable to-go boxes.

Local Apples

Dining Services is now purchasing apples from Brown County area orchards. Local produce is fresher and tastier, while helping local farmers and decreasing environmental impact. As much as 40% of the fruit in the U.S. is shipped from overseas. About 1,800 miles are traveled to deliver this produce. In the process of overseas packaging and shipment, precious fossil fuels and energy are wasted in the process. The farmers themselves only receive about 3.5 cents for each dollar. Student Feedback

At Dining Services, we do our utmost to listen and respond to the concerns of all our customers. Due to feedback from our student customers, we have now made some changes to the menu highlighting what these students would like to see improved or changed. Specifically, we have increased our offerings to include more homestyle entrees more often. As Dining Services is a department on campus that works for you, if you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to fill out a suggestion card at https://www.snc.edu/dining/login/commentform.html or email us at dining@snc.edu.
