Welcome to the Office of Residential Life

How you feel about where you live when you’re going to college really matters. And at St. Norbert College, students love where they live and the choices they have.

St. Norbert students have so many housing options, including residential halls, apartments, townhouses and college-owned houses. We even have halls dedicated to community service initiatives. And as you progress through your four years, you have the option of choosing increasingly independent options, from residence halls your first year, to college-owned houses your senior year.

It’s all about relationships. Living and learning are linked at St. Norbert through programs in the residence halls.

Bergstrom Hall is home to Communio: A Liberal Arts Seminar, a first-year living/learning course that builds on the skills used throughout college, while connecting students with each other, their values and their place in the world.

Other residence halls are focused on community service and are occupied by those passionate about that kind of work. For instance, in Michels Hall each suite develops a service project and works with an advisor and the resident assistant to fulfill the project goals.

Many halls have chapels for students to use for reflection and prayer. Others house campus programs, like Sensenbrenner Hall, which is home to the Women’s Center.

Residential life is about relationships. You’ll learn how to live with those who are like you and those who have quite different backgrounds. You many discover unexpected (and exciting!) aspects of yourself—your ability to be a leader, for example, or your talent as a team player. And if you’re like most St. Norbert students, you’ll make friends that you’ll have for your entire life.

St. Norbert College students are within a quick walk to class no matter which of the 12 residential living choices they select.

Mission Statement
Residential Life provides a variety of housing options, while celebrating the Norbertine tradition of community. Our role is to make St. Norbert College a preferred place to live. We provide co-curricular programs and leadership opportunities in a values-oriented living and learning environment. We strive to create a safe community, while preparing students to live, work, and serve.

Residency Requirement
Since, by its nature, St. Norbert is a four-year residential college, all students must live on campus.

All students, including married students and those living with parents or legal guardians, should follow proper procedures for release from the residency requirement. Students who do not comply with the residency requirement will be charged housing for the academic years during which they attend the college.
