The Sturzl Center for Community Service & Learning supports and develops the college’s mission to serve the common good by fostering campus-wide discussion on service, promoting community engagement and recognizing significant contributions to serving the common good in Brown County and beyond.

Community-Based Research

Community-based research (CBR) is defined as “a partnership of students, faculty and community members who collaboratively engage in research with the purpose of solving a pressing community problem or effecting social change” (Community-Based Research and Higher Education, Strand et al., 2004, p.3).

We can help you facilitate community-based research by:
  • Assisting with the identification of potential community partners
  • Developing a productive relationship with community partners
  • Assisting with sharing the project results with the community
