Global experiences

Experience the wonders of the world

One in three St. Norbert College students study abroad — many for more than a semester — and when they return to campus, they bring a new global perspective on the world. In addition, study abroad students resume life at SNC with a new understanding of themselves and their goals for the future.

Study abroad programs change the way you see the world. Instead of traveling as a tourist, you’ll get to immerse yourself in local languages and cultures, and see what it’s like to live in your country of choice. You’ll eat, study, and learn alongside students from different backgrounds, bonding over the shared experience and forming lasting friendships. Most of all, you’ll broaden your outlook on the world, and have fun in the process!

Study abroad at-a-glance

Am I eligible to study abroad?

Each and every SNC student may study abroad, regardless of major or minor. Once you’ve been enrolled at SNC for two consecutive semesters, you’re eligible for our study abroad programs. You must have a minimum 2.5 GPA in order to study abroad, and you can’t be on academic probation.

Where can I go?

Take your pick! SNC offers a large selection of programs in 20 countries.

Will it work with my schedule?

There are global experiences to fit every schedule! You’ll choose from year-long programs, semester-long programs, or one of our new short-term global seminars offered during J-term or Maymester. There are global experiences to fit every schedule! Can I afford it?

Semester-long study abroad programs are comparable to a semester spent on campus at SNC. Tuition is charged at the current SNC rate, and you’re able to apply your financial aid package to one semester of off-campus study. You may also qualify for study-abroad scholarship programs.

Will the courses I take during study abroad count toward my college degree at SNC?

Absolutely! We’ll help you choose courses that fulfill the requirements for your major(s), minor(s) and/or core curriculum requirements, so you’ll graduate on time.

  • Through SNC, I did this unique study abroad program through the School for International Training where all your courses take place in non-traditional settings. Your class might be on a boat in the Caribbean Sea or in the tropical forest. The goal was to expose participants to all the ecosystems in Panama and teach them field methods to study them.
