African Wildlife Conservation & Health (Namibia)

  • May 14th-May 31st
  • BIOL 170 (PN Core) OR BIOL 389 (AD-BB Core)
  • This is an immersive lecture and field based course designed to examine conservation and health of Namibian wildlife. Students will visit national parks, private game reserves, biomedical, educational, and conservation facilities, as well as examine the way in which diverse Namibian cultures, religions, and ideologies have shaped policies, economics, and human-wildlife interactions.

Tragedy & Philosophy (Greece)

  • A study of tragedy as a dramatic and literary for and the different Western philosophical theories of tragedy inspired by that art form.

A Brief History of the Brain (in Spain & Italy)

  • The course will culminate in an intensive study of neural anatomy and physiology through visits to universities and museums in Italy and Spain.

History of Women in STEM in the UK & Italy

  • Learn about the contributions that women in Europe have made, while considering the political, historical, cultural, and societal contexts for these accomplishments. Visit key historical locations including London, Paris, Florence, Rome, and Padua/Venice.

Strategic Management Seminar in Mexico

  • Complete your business capstone course with an international experience. In the first part of the course, students will form virtual teams with peers from the Universidad Panamericana to engage in business strategy sessions. In January, you will travel to Aguascalientes, Mexico where you will learn more about the Mexican business context through company visits, guest speakers and business case competitions with local students.

Winter in Rome: Art in Context

  • This course will explore Rome as a living museum of important Western intellectual and artistic traditions through visits around ancient Rome including the Colosseum, the Vatican Museums and Roman urban culture.

History, Culture & Communio in Spain
  • May 15th-June 5th
  • HUMA 389 (AD-WT Core)
  • Students will be able to apply the knowledge they acquire as we hike across ancient roads from Leon de Santiago de Compostela, visit Roman ruins, and reflect on what it means to be a pilgrim on the Camino in the modern age. This experience will give students the ability to engage with a centuries-old tradition, see themselves as global citizens, and experience communio with other pilgrims from around the world. 

Leadership Lessons from WWI & WWII (Belgium, France, Germany)

  • May 15th-June 3rd
  • BUAD 340 (AD-BB Core)
  • At their core, leadership is about influencing followers to work toward common goals, and marketing is about presenting an offering to a target audience so it is desirable. Although marketing usually focuses on selling goods and services, the same basic principles were applied by leaders to the propaganda efforts used during WWI and WWII by both the Allies and the Axis powers. We will explore how propaganda was used by leaders in WWI and WWII, and how these efforts relied both on leadership concepts and marketing principles.
