“Without fear or favor, since 1929”

by Nicole Dunbar ′14 & Rachel Mueller ′14

“Without fear or favor, since 1929” has for many years been the motto of the St. Norbert Times, St. Norbert College’s student-run, bi-weekly newspaper. The publication offers the college community recent news about the college and the world outside it. In addition, it provides students the opportunity to explore journalism, as well as a chance to express themselves creatively.

The Times, currently on volume 85, has more than fifty students on its staff. The staff is composed of writers, copy editors, photographers, a layout team, a business team and an online team. This year’s staff has been working hard to make the paper the best it can be, and this has included a significant amount of change from previous years.

The staff recently met with President Thomas Kunkel to learn about his experiences in journalism and received feedback about the publications thus far this year. This has inspired the leadership team to consider options to make the paper even more successful! Readers can look forward to new and exciting ideas rolling out this semester and on into the spring, as well.

Available all over campus, the Times also offers subscriptions to parents, alumni and friends of the college. These subscriptions are mailed all over the country on a bi-weekly basis.

The publication’s website, which is also new as of this academic year, is home to all articles found in the Times, as well as photos, exclusive blogs written by staff members, and more. We encourage the college community to provide feedback, article suggestions and ideas to enhance both the print and online publications.
