Internships Are a Must!

In today’s competitive job market, employers are seeing an average of two to three internships on a student’s résumé highlighting their professional experience and demonstrating their ability to succeed in the workplace. According to the results of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2011 Student Survey, 52.5 percent of graduating seniors reported participating in an internship at some point in their college career.

A well-planned internship gives students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real work environment. It creates a bridge from campus to career and from coursework to a professional practice. An internship is also a great opportunity to get an inside glimpse of a company, an industry, and a particular occupation.

After graduation, students who apply to a company where they have interned have a strong advantage over their competition. Seventy percent of employers offered full-time positions to their interns, and 56 percent of students accepted those offers, according to NACE.

We partner with businesses, nonprofits and other organizations to develop mutually beneficial internships with a strong educational component.
