This course is based on readings in early childhood education and related literature. It introduces students to various historical, philosophical and theoretical bases for early childhood programs. The course also introduces recent developments in the education of the young child. Special emphasis is given to the current development and administration of early childhood programs. A major feature of the course is appropriate school site visits. Prerequisites: EDUC 125 and EDUC 130.
