This course consists of class work and directed teaching experiences. Instruction is provided in diagnosis, instructional planning for remediation, ongoing evaluation of reading progress and the use of authentic literature. Students design and implement instruction based on children’s needs. Students are supervised in a field experience as they assess, then teach children for two to three hours each week. Prerequisite: EDUC 350.
