Dr. Antos, an associate professor of communication and media studies, began her journey at St. Norbert College in 2003 as an undergraduate student studying communication. Upon graduation she moved to Milwaukee to pursue her masters and Ph.D. in communication. Dr. Antos returned to St. Norbert in 2013 as a faculty member of communication and media studies, teaching courses related to relational development and theory. In the classroom, Dr. Antos uses a blend of active pedagogical strategies and lecture. In her classes students can expect to be engaged and challenged in their learning, a welcoming and fun environment, and many stories about her fluffy, adorable golden retriever, Remi. Check out Remi’s Instagram profile!

Her research entails exploring challenging conversations in the family, conflict and interpersonal contexts. Dr. Antos has publications on topics such as parental disclosure of HIV/AIDS to children, stepmother-stepdaughter relational maintenance strategies and the choice to reveal or conceal an eating disorder. Dr. Antos’ current line of research explores eating disorders and body-image disturbances in the relational communication environment.

Dr. Antos, while a student at St. Norbert, was inspired by her professors. They helped her navigate college, and her decision to attend graduate school. Dr. Antos aspires to be the same light for her students.
