Types of financial aid

Scholarships, loans and student employment

When it comes to college financial aid, there are several kinds available, including various types of scholarships, loans and campus jobs. We encourage you to educate yourself thoroughly about these options before making decisions. You can count on our St. Norbert College staff for financial aid help as you consider how to best use aid to achieve your college and career goals.

Payment plans

The college offers payment plans where you can make partial payments over a period of time, rather than one large payment.

Merit scholarships

Merit-based financial aid comes in varying forms, but with one common characteristic: Your eligibility is determined by your achievements, talents or skills, and not by how much money your family earns or has saved.

Need-based scholarships

If college costs don’t fit comfortably into your family’s household budget, you’re not alone. Find out about need-based scholarships and grants. These financial aid programs represent money you will not need to repay later.

Student employment and Federal Work Study

Many SNC students work part-time campus jobs. They can put their earnings toward college bills, loan interest payments, or to pay for items that aren’t part of their official college bill, such as books and supplies or personal expenses.
