Master of Public Health

Jump-start a career in public health

Public health is at the forefront of many discussions today, and the need is rapidly increasing for highly trained public health professionals who can synthesize medical knowledge, educate communities, shape public policy and engage in research for the benefit of the common good. In partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, SNC offers a dual-degree program that will allow you to earn both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in just five years — a full year faster than the typical degree path, and at a significantly lower cost.

Academic paths in public health

The liberal arts foundation that you’ll receive at SNC provides you with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills that will allow you to learn and adapt as the public health field changes over time.

If you take advantage of SNC’s partnership with MCW, you’ll spend your first three years working on undergraduate courses at SNC. Afterward, you’ll continue your graduate studies with the M.P.H. program at MCW’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Through the partnership agreement with MCW, up to 10 SNC students will be accepted into the program each year. The program is open to any major, but you must meet certain core requirements to be admitted. Interested students should have completed composition, biology and statistics courses and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Transfer students are also eligible.

Academic paths within the pharmacy program

Looking for a fast track to becoming a pharmacist? Check out SNC’s unique 3+3 partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW)! You’ll spend your first three years completing undergraduate curriculum at SNC, and then transfer into the Pharm.D. program at MCW to finish your degree.

Do you have a minimum ACT score of 26, and a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.75? If so, we encourage you to apply for the 3+3 program through MCW when you receive your SNC acceptance. Note: we’ll prioritize your application if we receive it by March 1. Upon acceptance into the 3+3 program, you will gain early-assurance admission to the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy.

Our 3+3 partnership with MCW accelerates your typical degree timeline by a full year. This means that you’ll be out in the workforce sooner, instead of paying for tuition. In addition, you’ll be helping fill the health care gap in underserved communities.

The MCW School of Pharmacy program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. You’ll be eligible to sit for pharmacist licensure examinations upon successful completion of the Pharm.D. program.

After completing your first year in the MCW School of Pharmacy, you’ll receive a bachelor of science degree in natural sciences from SNC through “reverse transfer” of those credits earned at MCW. The reverse-transfer program guarantees six Pharm.D. seats for full-time SNC students who successfully complete program prerequisites.
