Along with a vibrant music studies program at St. Norbert College with emphasis areas ranging from education to performance, we also offer a variety of camps and festivals for middle schoolers and high schoolers to participate in throughout the year.

 

Come and explore your love for music — from strings and brass to singing and jazz — in a college setting and learn from our talented faculty at the same time!

Summer Band Camp

June 19-23, 2023
Open to students in grades 5-9

We invite students of all ability levels to take advantage of this fun and educational commuter camp. It's a one-week music enrichment opportunity that concludes with a concert put on by our campers.

Fall Honors Band

Nov. 12, 2022
Invite only — open to students in grades 7-9

The Fall Honors Band Festival is for students from all across northeast Wisconsin and northern Michigan. This is an opportunity for students to come together on the SNC campus for a day of band rehearsals, culminating in a concert to end the afternoon.


Winter BandFest

Feb. 11-12, 2023
Open to high school students in grades 9-12

Join us for a weekend filled with rehearsals, sectional clinics and special performances with SNC faculty. Approximately 70 students will be selected to participate. These students will have the opportunity to stay in our residence halls with SNC students and get a small taste of campus life. The festival will conclude on Sunday with a grand finale concert.


Choral Festival

Feb. 24, 2023
Open to high school students in grades 9-12

The Choral Festival is for area high school singers. The day-long event is fast-paced and filled with music! All participating students will have the opportunity to sing together as a mixed SATB Festival Choir. Students will get to work alongside SNC vocal faculty and SNC choir students. Rehearsals will lead up to a late afternoon concert. 


Brass Day

Fall 2023 (date to be announced)
Open to high school students in grades 9-12

SNC Brass Day provides the opportunity for high schoolers from all over the state to participate in a one-day clinic which includes group rehearsals and specialized instruction from SNC faculty. The day will end with a public concert highlighting the students' skills and what they learned to take back to their local high school bands. 

String Instrument Day

April 1, 2023
Open to students in middle school, high school, college, and beyond

The Music Department at St. Norbert College is inviting you to SNC String Day! All violin, viola, cello, and bass players with at least two years of experience taking private lessons or playing in an orchestra are welcome to attend (age 12 and up recommended). The day will include orchestra rehearsals, upper and lower strings technique classes, violin and cello masterclasses, and a concert featuring all String Day participants and faculty. Let’s build our string community together!

Composition Day

April 30, 2023
Open to high school students in grades 9-12

Hear your music performed by SNC ensembles and faculty performers at SNC Composition Day! The event is open to high school students selected as Composition Fellows through the SNC Composition Competition. Selected works will be performed and the winner of the competition will receive a monetary award. Activities also include educational sessions and lunch. The competition application will be available in December.

Piano Fest

March 5, 2023
Open to high school students in grades 9-12

Participants can expect a whole day of recitals, workshops, masterclasses, lectures, and lecture-recitals featuring our piano faculty and guest artists. The day will include masterclasses, lectures & workshops with SNC faculty and guest artists. The day will conclude with a piano recital by Michael Gurt at 7pm in Birder Hall. Light snacks will be provided in the morning while lunch and dinner will be on your own. We will provide information on local dining options located near campus.
