Pre-pharmacy

Your future in pharmacy starts at SNC

Two-thirds of Wisconsin counties lack access to affordable, quality health care. Want to be part of the solution? Pharmacists are working to help close the gap when it comes to accessing and being able to pay for health care by providing vaccines, assisting clients with medication management and providing patient care services such as strep tests or measuring vital signs.

St. Norbert College gives you a way to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in natural sciences from SNC and a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in just six years!

Academic paths within the pharmacy program

Looking for a fast track to becoming a pharmacist? Check out SNC’s unique 3+3 partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW)! You’ll spend your first three years completing an undergraduate curriculum at SNC, and then transfer into the Pharm.D. program at MCW to finish your degree.

Apply today for this unique program!

Do you have a minimum ACT score of 26, and a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.75? If so, we encourage you to apply for the 3+3 program through MCW when you receive your SNC acceptance. Note: we’ll prioritize your application if we receive it by March 1. Upon acceptance into the 3+3 program, you will gain early-assurance admission to the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy.

Our 3+3 partnership with MCW accelerates your typical degree timeline by a full year. This means that you’ll be out in the workforce sooner, instead of paying for tuition. In addition, you’ll be helping fill the health care gap in underserved communities.

The MCW School of Pharmacy program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. You’ll be eligible to sit for pharmacist licensure examinations upon successful completion of the Pharm.D. program.

After completing your first year in the MCW School of Pharmacy, you’ll receive a bachelor of science degree in natural sciences from SNC through “reverse transfer” of those credits earned at MCW. The reverse-transfer program guarantees six Pharm.D. seats for full-time SNC students who successfully complete program prerequisites.

Elevate your pharmacy education

You’ll be invited to participate in at least two MCW School of Pharmacy programs and events each year during your time at SNC, including career discussions and shadowing opportunities with MCW’s clinical partners. These events will give you important insight into pharmacy careers, and help you network with students and faculty at MCW. Through your senior thesis, you’ll contribute to pharmaceutical research, providing you with the opportunity to focus on topics of interest. In addition, the partnership program pairs you with a faculty mentor from MCW. This advisor will help guide you through your undergraduate degree choices and can connect you to undergraduate research opportunities at MCW.

  • St. Norbert is a small school but with big-school opportunities. I remember walking into my first med school interview, and the person next to me had their Ph.D. from Yale ... . But in talking about our experiences, I realized that I’ve gotten to do all the same things or more because there are so many opportunities here.

  • SNC hosts lots of informational talks, panels and speakers that opened my eyes and gave me more information about what I’d be experiencing in different medical professions and schools. Highlighting guests in a variety of professions is especially beneficial for students who are still deciding, or don’t know much about the different areas of health care.
